Chris Townshend - Dental Surgeon
BDS (BIRM 1991) GDC number 67052
Chris grew up near Mold and attended The King's School in Chester before qualifying from Birmingham University in 1991. During his studies, he received Honours in his first, fourth, and final BDS exams, alongside prizes including runner-up in the UK BDA/Dentsply Student Clinician Programme and the Walpole Day prize in orthodontics.
With over 30 years of experience, Chris has completed extensive training in root canal therapy, cosmetic dentistry, toothwear, and gum treatment. He is an accredited Smilelign provider and focuses on minimally invasive, adhesive techniques that are gentle on the teeth. Providing both partial and full dentures is one of his absolute favorite aspects of patient care.
Known for his relaxed, informal style, Chris excels at putting patients at ease. Outside the practice, he enjoys gardening, caravanning, swimming, walking in the Clwydian hills, and spending time with his daughters, Lydia and Emily, and his dog, Alfie.

Judith grew up in St Helens and qualified from Leeds University in 1998. With 28 years of experience, she has completed a wealth of postgraduate training, including courses on occlusion, whitening, gum disease, and tooth-wear management. She is also an accredited Smilelign clear aligner provider.
Jude has an advanced interest in root canal therapy, holding a Certificate in Endodontics from the University of Chester. She has also completed several advanced oral surgery programmes, making her our go-to team member for complex extractions. She loves the rewarding challenge of saving teeth and helping patients out of pain.
Outside of the practice, Jude enjoys walking, reading, and practicing yoga. She loves baking—and according to her daughters, Lydia and Emily, she makes the best chocolate cake in the world! An avid dog lover, Jude also enjoys towing the family touring caravan to different parts of Wales (much to Chris's delight!).

Lucy Stevens - Registered Dental Nurse

Lucy has been a cornerstone of our team for over 10 years and is our head nurse. Enthusiastic, deeply experienced, and always smiling, she specializes in making our patients feel completely "at home" from the moment they walk through the door.
Passionate about continuous professional development, Lucy has undertaken extensive postgraduate training to expand the care she can provide. She holds a Certificate in Dental Radiography (allowing her to take X-rays) and is qualified in extended duties, including taking dental impressions, applying fluoride, and performing plaque indices. Committed to patient safety, she also holds advanced certifications in Medical Emergencies/CPR, infection control, and safeguarding for children and vulnerable adults.
Outside the clinic: When she isn't caring for patients, Lucy loves spending quality time with her children and staying active at the gym.

Claire Formby - Registered Dental Nurse and New Patient Co-ordinator

Claire has been a vital part of our practice for over 8 years. Highly experienced, her background spans both general dentistry and several specialist orthodontic practices. As our New Patient Coordinator, Claire is often the first friendly voice you’ll hear when you contact us, expertly guiding you through your initial journey, while also providing top-tier clinical support chairside.
Dedicated to excellent patient care, Claire holds extended duties qualifications in fluoride application and performing plaque indices. She also regularly updates her training in Medical Emergencies/CPR, safeguarding, and advanced clinical skills. For Claire, the absolute best part of her job is meeting new people and building relationships with our patients.
Outside the clinic: Originally from Manchester, Claire moved to the area after meeting her partner, Craig. She is a busy mom of two and loves walking her dog, Dennis. When she gets a spare moment, she enjoys reading, running, and the occasional camping expedition—provided it’s not raining!

Beth Weild - Qualified Dental Nurse Beth is a friendly and enthusiastic member of our nursing team who recently completed her dental nursing qualification. Having previously worked within the NHS mental health sector, Beth has a natural talent for making our patients feel at ease from the moment they walk through the door. Whether she is greeting you at reception or assisting chairside, Beth’s positive energy is infectious. She takes a special interest in cosmetic dentistry and surgical procedures. When she isn't caring for patients, you’ll likely find her at the gym, out shopping, or exploring the outdoors with her three dogs! |
